The Door To Happiness
It goes without saying that the door to happiness is not easy to find, especially when there are too many doors to choose from. I recently came across an article, that claimed that there are seven doors to happiness. Intrigued by the title, I decided to give it a read. And the end results brought me such happiness that I decided to share my experience with you.

They say that developing self awareness allows you to live a better lifestyle, and help get on track towards your door to happiness. As when you get in touch with your true nature, it helps in see what makes you happy and content in life. I was getting curious by the second, as I was finally able to find what makes me happy. And it’s safe to say that my work as a professional fashion photographer is what makes me happy. And I was glad that they confirmed it (no pun intended).
However, it was a great article, and sparked a thought in my head. As today, we are so busy in “making money” that we do not even stop to ask ourselves “is that what I want from life”. People have just turned into money making machine, and it’s just sad. And makes me thank God each time, that I work in an industry where your passions is what drives you. As here, it’s not as much about making money, as gaining fame and appreciation for your work. Because I believe the work done in the fashion industry is driven by passion, and determination. The thirst to make it to the top.
And just looking at what drives me, and others in my industry I am often reminded of a famous quote by Rumi “Shine like the whole universe is your”. And if you look at individuals in the fashion industry, not just the photographers, you will be able to see how that do shine like the entire universe is in them. And so do I.
As for me life is not about finding the door to happiness, it is about how much I build on it. I found the door to happiness when I started working as a professional fashion photographer. But it would all have been pointless, if I did not build on my happiness. If I did not take out the time to learn to be one of the best. Obviously, I would not feel content if I was unable to offer my clients the best. More importantly, if I was unable to offer myself the best. And I presume that I would have started a journey where I had to look for a new door to happiness.
I can easily say that I am at that point in life, where I am completely happy and content with my life. This does not mean I have stopped learning, it means that every morning I feel the same feelings this image provokes in most people. Where you just stand a think “could life be any better?”
