Find What You Love and Following Your Dream

They say find what you love, and you will never have to work for a single day in your life. But most people feel that is easy to say for people who have already found what they love, and are living the life. Yes, I too have found what I love, and am living the high life. As there is not one single day when I feel like I am going to work, as my passion drives me. But to be honest, I had to struggle to find what I love.

I mean what does “find what you love” even means? I found that I love photography when I was 5 years old, but that did not mean I was set for life. As growing up I understood that Photography has too many categories, and there is so much that I need to learn and explore before I make a decision on what makes me happy.

I mean, just generally just taking photographs puts a huge smile on my face, and I just love practicing different themes, and techniques, but that did not mean I was good.  To make an actual career out of what you love, you have to be practical and rational. As there is a lot of thought process that goes into the actual work. It might feel like that, people wake up and find the perfect career they love, so they do not have to feel it’s work.

But that is not how it goes. As there is actually a lot of work that goes into the initial process. For instance, when I was learning photography I had to try a few different categories, before I could decide the one I like, and then practice that one in real life to learn if I love it or not.  But fortunately it was a short road of experiments for me, as I know photographers who are at the peak of their career, and they realize they are not happy with their career. As it feels like work, so they decide to find what they love.

And that is the key really, to take a stand when you feel you do not love your career, as you are being unfair to yourself. It might not be easy to find, but at least you try to find it. So you are content with yourself, knowing you did the best for yourself. As your career is not just about making money, it’s about making sure you are happy with what you have. It might be little, or it might be a lot, but until and unless you are happy you will never feel content in life.  So my advice is to follow your heart, you might fall down on your face a few times, but keep on working towards your goal, as each time you pick yourself up, you will hit harder than before, and that will help you achieve your goal.
