Keeping a track of a healthy diet plan can be tricky when you are under time pressure. As I tend to eat when I am nervous, or the time pressure is building up. However, munching on food during a shoot is not a healthy routine, or professional so I came up with a healthy solution. As part of my job requires me to be in complete control, and healthy. After I found out that skipping breakfast is not an option, I decided to follow the opinion religiously. Since then I have been able to keep my hunger spasms in control during shoots.
There are so many things that can go wrong during a shoot, and at times when the time is just slipping by there is not much you can do than just munch on some comfort food. However, that is not a healthy solution and will leave you with a huge mess. Which is why I suggest you take proper meal breaks. Having a set eating routine will help you keep your mind off food, and you will not have to eat out of pressure. There is a common conception that people tend to eat when they are nervous, but it is not true for everyone. Everyone has a different system, some eat when they are sad, others eat when they are happy. However, none of them is a healthy solution.
Once you start to maintain a healthy routine, then you too can control them. Just because a system works for me, does not mean it has to work for you.
I have been working as a professional fashion photographer for long enough to know that there are times when the pressure gets to you. There is nothing you can do, so you start to eat. This is not because you skipped breakfast, or lunch, it’s just because it’s a nervous habit. However, we do not realize that when we are munching on food. I can only speak for myself, so I know I go for the bakery products or sweets that are completely ruining my body. Consuming food just out of nervousness can lead a number of health issues. Which is why I trained myself, and suggest you do the same.
It will take some time and a lot of self-control to get to the point where you can learn to control the habit, but I assure you it is possible. Once you start to maintain a healthy routine, then you too can control them. Just because a system works for me, does not mean it has to work for you. So just pick between keeping a set time for you 3 meals, or the perfect time to snack all day. Keep in mind that healthy choices will help you get better results, as simply indulging yourself in comfort food will leave you lethargic and sleeping.
Which is why I suggest you try to get the matter under control before it gets out of hand. Once you have, you will be able to focus on work, rather than focusing on getting something to eat. This will help you keep your health up, and be more active during shoots.
