How Models Age is Always Changing Until Reality Catches Up
The model’s age keeps in changing with time, when they are too young to get started they lie about being older. But when they are actually old, they keep on lying to stay in the business and last longer in assignments that are specifically for models who are a certain age. However, there is only so much you can lie, as reality will start to catch-up soon enough.
The fashion industry is not easy to survive in, and that is no exception for models. As they keep on pushing themselves to be better than the other and thrive on passion. However, the only issue they seem to face is their age. Most models today are looking for a way to get started early, so they can make their debut in the fashion industry. This allows them to stay in the game for longe, as they are actually younger. The thing is, that you can lie about being older and looking younger, but you simply cannot lie about being young when you look old. However, some models go through extensive measure just to make sure that they are perceived as young and healthy.
The entire issue arises when the perception that there is a set period of time between which a model is able to build her career arose.Thinking they only have a few years, many models started listing the wrong age. As they were able to hide the reality, they got away with it.

Over the course of my career, I have worked with many models, where some of the themes never seemed to age and, others were cutting down on their age. It is a common issue that is seen in most portfolios today. Where the age is not matching up to the look. They are either look too old, or too young to be the age they have listed down. Yes, there are people who don’t look their age, but it cannot possibly be true for everyone else.As visible aging marks are not hard to spot when you have an eye for detail, and especially when you are working with equipment that will blow each aspect as clear as water.
Where I understand the impulse to lie about their age, I fail to understand why the perception was created. As there is enough work for everyone, no matter what your age is. As the fashion industry does not only market one generic age group, it takes on all ages.So when you do age, you can easily move onto the next chapter of your life. But some models are so hung up about the fact, that they keep on lying. For those who feel the need to lie, I assure you that your age has nothing to do with your career, if you have the skills and are dedicated to making it, then there is no one who can stop you. Yes, you might not be able to secure a place in the age sector you like, but you can still make a career.
